Sorting out...

1 min read
Couple of days ago I've got a new table. Moving things from the old one, i ran into old albums and notebooks. With LOTTA transformers' sketches!

Ok, most of them are crappish - a raw material, not even a pictures... But looking through them, I found a serie of sketches depicting various "Trabsformers: Chojin Masterforce" characters.

So here they are. :)

I'm getting pretty sick, running into furious "right-fighters" here on deviant-art again and again. All these cries like "this is mine!", "You shouldn't post that!", "I did not give you permission to use my lineart!" annoy a lot.

Ok, maybe I simply shouldn't read it all... But sometimes it's unavoidable.

Really, it looks like most people cannot distinguish between "plagiarism" and "copyright violations". Though I dare say copyright is pretty silly thing, you have at least be able to know what you're talking about.

Plagiarism is about to take someone's work and claim it your own. Ok, this is bad, and request to state the author name is fully aceptable for me here.

To take someone's lineart, color it and post as your own coloring - is quite another thing. Ok, maybe you should state that the lineart is made by someone else... But that's all. You make the work - you show it. And I cannot understand all those people, who mess about someone used their lineart or even rough sketch.

The silliest thing I've ever seen was a quarrel because of a picture taken as an avatar.

P.S.: Indeed I cannot understand "owning characters". This is silly. If you want to make bussiness of your character, make something that can be sold.

P.P.S.: The last one. Many can say to me: "You talk like that because your own pictures are crappish and no one would ever buy them, so you should be happy that they were at least seen couple of times".
Yeah, I understand, I draw badly. And I understad I cannot disprove such opinion right here and now.
But try to think yourselves: is that normal to own AN IDEA? Is that right to be able to stop someone's creativity? Is that ok that you can sell your own RIGHTS?

*sigh*

The first thing I'd like to say is:

All you see here is totally free for noncommercial use. Characters, pictures themselves... Share them, copy them, modify them, post them wherever you want. You'll never see a comment like "You had to ask first" - I promise.

And if someone would want to colour one of my sketches, I would appreciate it very much. :)
